Weekly Global Media Outreach Prayer Letter

Button - Scripture

“Do you think I cannot call on My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?” Matthew 26:53

Button - The People

Please pray for the people of the city of Rome in Italy. Rome has had great influence over the centuries; in the days of the early church Rome often persecuted the church, but Rome then became the home of the Roman Catholic Church. Please pray that God would pour out His Spirit and draw everyone in Rome to Himself this Easter season.

Button - The Power Of Internet

At www.JesusandEaster.com, we tell the story of how Jesus Christ died for our sins. This is an evangelistic website that you can send your friends to who do not know Jesus. Just send them a link to the site in an email and invite them to read the site to find out the real meaning of the holiday Easter. If you want to read the story in the Bible of the day Jesus was crucified, you can read it in the Bible at John Chapters 18 and 19; you can click here to read it online.

They crucified Jesus.

Who was Jesus? He is the one and only Son of God. What is being crucified? Crucifixion was an extremely painful death that was used in the ancient Roman world for criminals; someone was nailed to a large cross of wood and left there to die.

Why was Jesus crucified? There are two reasons. The Romans and leaders of His day crucified Him because He said He was the Son of God. The real reason is Jesus willingly gave Himself to be killed for all of us — to pay for the sins of the world. How great is God’s love for us!

On the day we call Good Friday, Jesus willingly went to the cross for us. He had the power to call on God His Father to send thousands of angels, and He would have escaped the cross; but He chose to go through it all for us so that we could be forgiven of all our sins.

So this week, let us pray and

  • Thank God for sending His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins
  • Tell Jesus how much we love Him
  • Pray for God’s protection and blessing over our staff here at Global Media Outreach

The great news is that, after He died on the cross, Jesus rose from the dead! He is the conqueror over sin and death and hell; no power on earth can withstand His great love.

THANK YOU so much for your prayers. God answers prayer and fills us with His Holy Spirit! You are partners with us in reaching the world with the message of Jesus Christ and His love.

May God bless you,

Your friends at Global Media Outreach

“Again the high priest asked Him, ‘Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?’ ‘I am,’ said Jesus. ‘And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.’” Mark 15: 61, 62

Button - The People

Please pray for the people of Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the largest countries in the world with many people spread across many islands. Please pray that there will be freedom of religion and that many people will come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Button - The Power Of Internet

At www.ichristianlife.com You can click here to see the online Bible and read the book of Matthew chapter 26, which is about Jesus before He was crucified.

The trial of Jesus: How do you feel when you are unjustly accused of something — when someone says you did something wrong but you are innocent? Don’t you want to defend yourself — to strike back?

But when Jesus, the sinless Son of God, was brought to trial, He did not defend Himself. Why did He not speak up? The reason was that He chose to be punished, to go to the cross, to pay the punishment for you and for me.

Let’s say a friend of yours owed a bank a large sum of money and could not pay it, and the bank threatened to put him in jail if he did not pay. You came and you paid the money for him so that he could go free. In the same way, Jesus paid a debt He did not owe because we owed a debt we could not pay. Jesus Christ died for our sins.

So Jesus was arrested and put on trial in a court called the Sanhedrin, almost 2,000 years ago. Even though He was innocent and had committed no sin, He was sentenced to death because He said He was the Son of God.

As we approach Easter, let us celebrate the fact that Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins. We can go free when we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord! How great is the love and forgiveness of God.

So this week, let us pray

  • That God will help us forgive others, even as we are forgiven by God
  • That God will help our team who work here at Global Media Outreach to be filled with His joy and His victory
  • That at least one person you know will come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior this year

THANK YOU so much for your prayers. God answers prayer and fills us with His Holy Spirit! You are partners with us in reaching the world with the message of Jesus Christ and His love.

May God bless you,

Your friends at Global Media Outreach

Click here to find out from Joyce Bartholomew how you can put Jesus Christ first in your life. The home page of www.ichristianlife.com also lists other ways you can learn about Jesus.

Jesus Christ is God’s Son. As we look at preparing for Easter this year, let us realize how wonderful it is that God’s Son came to die for us.

How can one man take on the sins of the whole world? An ordinary man could not do this — but Jesus is not just a man. He came to earth 2,000 years ago and was born of a virgin whose name was Mary. Jesus’ father is God. Jesus Himself existed with God from the beginning of time. “He was in very nature God.”

What is wonderful and amazing is that Jesus, the sinless son of God, came to earth and took punishment that He did not deserve. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish, but would have eternal life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved.” Everyone on earth has sinned; God has laid on Christ the punishment for the sins of us all.

What we have to do is accept Jesus Christ as our savior; agree with God that we have sinned; and thank God that Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. Without that, we are deserving of eternal death and punishment and separation from God. When we accept Jesus Christ, we are given the gift of eternal life — and forgiveness for all our sins! What a wonderful gift! How great is the love of God!

So this week, let us thank God

  • For sending His own Son Jesus to be our Savior
  • For allowing His Son to be crucified to pay the penalty for our sins
  • For His great love for us

God is so wonderful — He is willing to not hold our sins against us, but He wants us to be His sons and daughters. Let us live our lives in thankfulness to God.

THANK YOU so much for your prayers.

May God bless you,

Your friends at Global Media Outreach

Please pray for the people of South America. There are hundreds of millions of people in South America, most of whom speak Spanish or Brazil. Pray that everyone in South America would know Jesus Christ as their Savior and that they would send out many missionaries around the world to share the love of Jesus.

Button - The Power Of Internet

The most watched movie in the world is the Jesus Film. You can click here and watch the Jesus film online. You can also click short sections of the movie and see different parts of the life of Jesus. All of the words in the movie come from the Bible.

The next three weeks, let’s focus on Easter. Easter is the time of year when we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ came to this earth over 2,000 years ago. He was the Son of God, yet He came as a poor person. He did not sin, but He came to die for us all. He commanded no armies, but He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

He came to die on a cross to take away the sins of the world. He told His disciples He was going to die. But where most of us do not want to die, and will fight to prevent it, Jesus went to the cross willingly for us. He who knew no sin became sin for us, so that we could be forgiven and become children of God.

When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming, he said “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” Do you have sin? Of course you do; we all have sinned. To sin is to do or think something that is against God’s will. We all have been selfish, or have stolen, or have been prideful, or have committed other sins. But when Jesus came, He paid the penalty that we all deserve for our sins. All we need to do is to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.

So this week, let us pray that

  • God will help us to realize how wonderful is our salvation in Jesus Christ
  • Each of us would walk in newness of life — forgiven in Jesus!
  • God would help our staff at Global Media Outreach have peace and joy and victory in Jesus Christ

How great is the love of God! God could just have judged the whole world, and we would all have been lost. Instead, He sent His own Son so that we could be saved. Let us share the love of Jesus with the whole world!

THANK YOU so much for your prayers. There is great spiritual power in believing prayer.

May God bless you,

Your friends at Global Media Outreach
